Our residential language courses are designed to give you maximum exposure to the French language and culture.
During your stay you will have approximately 20 hours of lessons following a structured programme of tuition to your level, However we know that there is more to learning than sitting behind a desk. So we incorporate various activities and outings to reinforce your lessons . They are all designed to give you listening, speaking and understanding practice. We are sure you will enjoy the trip to Niort Market, an opportunity to take in the wonderful sights, sounds and smells of a traditional French Market. Here you will be given some pocket money and a list of items to buy. A string of garlic or a dozen snails are among the favourites.
Cooking with Marie Paul is another favourite. You will cook a traditional Vendéen dish, so you will need to follow all her instructions. However she cannot speak English and you will be eating your creation for dinner. This is a great way to learn and give you listening /speaking practice.
Our courses are fully residential and all your lessons, activities and outings are included in the price. We cater for all levels and you will have a maximum of only six students on your course.
You can find us at Le Château du Poiron deep in the heart of the Vendée region. This is a beautiful area with easy access by road, rail and plane. Francoise will be your tutor and hostess, she is a native French teacher with many years experience both in the UK and France.
